Balancing our emotions is something everyone has struggled with at some point in their lives - high schoolers, college students, parents-really everyone and anyone! Managing our emotions can get a bit overwhelming but, if we don’t they can actually lead to bigger health problems down the road that can wreak havoc on the body!
There are many factors that can trigger emotional imbalance. These factors can be related to food allergies, pesticides, electromagnetic pollution, heavy metals, medications, poor diet, nutritional deficiencies, and many other environmental influences, along with emotional traumas, and painful childhood memories. Scents whether they're pleasant or not have been found to have an effect on our moods. The area of the brain responsible for our sense of smell known as The Olfactory System is wired directly to the Limbic System of our brain and is highly involved in emotion. The limbic system is a group of related structures that help regulate emotion, memory, and certain aspects of movement. It is also called the LIBRARIAN of the brain because it is responsible for determining which memories are stored and where. If we ignore emotional health, it is very difficult to enjoy optimum physical health as they are closely interconnected.
Everyday ~sometimes multiple times a day~ I like to use what I call the SERENITY TRIO PROTOCOL. It uses Stress Away, Joy, & Valor to help balance emotions in 3 easy steps! 1. Stress Away on my wrists (can also apply to neck, temples, & feet if you want cause you can never have too much!) Stress Away is an emotionally balancing oil that is relaxing and comforting bringing feelings of peace and tranquility. 2. Valor on back of neck (at the brainstem area called the Occipital Triangle) you can substitute Valor II. Valor is a balancing blend that helps to promote feelings of strength and self-confidence it also helps aid focus and attention. 3. Joy over my heart (thymus) Joy is an uplifting blend helps to boost your mood with its calming properties that helps to promote peace and ease nerves. Apply all 3 consecutively multiple times throughout the day as needed while saying a positive affirmation, a short prayer (Serenity prayer), or a bible verse can really help you get through what seems like an impossible day.
