People don’t like to talk about parasites in the US. They get really unconformable with the topic. But guess what?! Parasites are EVERYWHERE and cannot be entirely avoided.

Did you know that the US is one of the only countries that doesn’t regularly treat humans for parasites? (We have no problem treating our animals though😕). Even the Amish do a parasite cleanse 2Xs a year with an herbal tincture they make from scratch that is easy for all young and old to take.

How do parasites make you feel?

What are some symptoms you might have when you have of parasites?

You could have any 1 or more of the following:


Skin issues/rashes


Allergies/New onset of allergies




Bloating (especially after eating)

Acid reflux/GERD

Sleep issues

Fatigue (may be chronic)

Joint and muscle pain

Teeth grinding/TMJ

Restless legs

Memory problems or brain fog

Rectal itching

Digestive issues

Anxiety/Depression (they disrupt our neurotransmitters, alter gut microbiota, & cause inflammation!)

Parasites can cause our bodies so many issues! They can create inflammation within the body weekening our immune systems. They are one of the root causes of nutritional deficiencies, depleting the body of essential vitamins and minerals like A, B, D, calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron, seratonin (affects our moods, memory and reward).

The toxic waste that they produce can cause impaired brain function causing a misfire between the brain and the endocrine glands which can result in supressed hormone production. This can have an affect many functions of the body! Parasites don’t always cause us issues immediately either. It can take years to notice any problems.

So how do you get parasites?

  • By consuming something that has been contaminated (food and or water).

  • Blood

  • Pets

  • From insect bites (ticks, spiders, mosquitos, etc.).

  • Through the eyes, skin, nose or mouth

You probably have parasites if you’ve ever….

  • Ate raw or undercooked meat/fish

  • Ate produce that wasn’t properly washed

  • Drank unfiltered water

  • Had a pet

  • Swam in a lake

  • Got bit by a mosquito or tick

  • Didn’t wash your hands well

  • Walked outside barefoot

Unfortunately allopathic medicine in the US doesn’t really believe in treating parasites 😕 You might get a side eye if you bring up parasites to your conventional doctor.

There are tests that can determine if you have any parasites:

Bio Scans

Blood tests

A fecal exam

So how do you get rid of parasites if you suspect you have them?

You need to kill parasites at all life stages at the same time… eggs, larva, and adults. Because some parasites produce toxins when they die (die off) which can be harmful to you don’t want to kill them too aggressively.

There are many protocols you can find to do a parasite cleanse.

I have used Cellcore Bioscience Para 1 & Para 2 (herbal supplements) and Parafy (herbal tinctures). Parafy is supposed to be a gentler way compared to Cellcore’s protocol.

Here is a list of foods that are known to be antparasitic:

Papaya seeds

The most important thing before you start any cleanse is to make sure that all your drainage pathways are open. The main drainage pathways are the colon, liver/bile ducts, kidneys, skin, lymphatic & glymphatic system and cells.

When all of our drainage pathways are open, working and moving efficiently, then the body can work to release toxins, parasites and pathogens and detox properly as it is meant to. If your pathways are blocked and you start any detox cleanse, the crud you kill will just recirculate within your body and get reasbsorpbed making you feel like crap. Die off symptoms are the worst!

I used Cellcore Bioscience’s Drainage protocol to do this not only to kill parasites & candida but also for Lyme disease and Co-infections (bacteria, viruses and other pathogens).

How do you know if your drainage pathways are open?

Follow the 3 P's: Peeing, Pooping, Perspiring!

We're gonna get a little personal... How often are you peeing and pooping?

You need to be peeing regularly and pooping at least 1 to 3 times a day! Ideally you want to be pooping as many meals as you consume you should be eliminating. Why? Because old poop holds onto parasites and toxins. It can make you feel terrible and bloated. You want to get the poop out so you don't feel like literal crap💩

Make sure you are eating a healthy whole food diet. Get enough fiber, eat organic grass fed meats, eggs & wild caught fish. Processed foods filled with fillers, sugars, dyes, and preservatives disrupt the healthy bacteria in the gut. We want to set up our gut health to be working optimally especially when we are detoxing. Drink lots of water to hydrate the body and your bowels. If you need help getting your bowels moving you can use different supplemets as needed. Cellcore Bowel Movers (I use 1 of these a day) or Oxy Powder are two great ones to try! You can also get a Colonic to jump start and remove years of impacted poop! I know a fabulous gal who is a Colon Hydrotherapist if you need a referral!

Other important things to do while cleansing parasites:

•Get plenty of quality sleep

•Eat healthy whole foods! Lots of leafy greens and eat a rainbow of fruits and veggies.

•Avoid sugars, processed foods, and alcohol which parasites thrive on!

•Limit coffee while doing a cleanse (it creates an acidic environment. Opt for a mushroom coffee or Dandy Blend.)

•Drink plenty of water (half your body weight is great!) this helps keep your bowels hydrated and moving as well as your body.

•Support the liver

•Support the immune system

Take a good quality probiotic

•Eat foods that are high in Vitamins B and C to help the body's resistance to parasites.

•Eat Sweet potatoes, Squash & Zucchini to help get Vitamin A (this helps your body fight parasitic worms and larvae). •Keep your body moving.

•Support your emotions. I love using essential oils for this. I get my high quality oils that are powerful + pure HERE. Bach remedies are also another option.

Having a healthy microbiome is key to keeping our bodies functioning optimally!

We can't completely aboid parasites but here are some steps we can to take to lessen the chances:

  • Cook meats thoroughly

  • Do a parasite cleane at least 2-3 times a year.

  • Deworm your pets

  • Wash your hands thoroughly before preparing your food

  • Drink clean purified water
